This is a photo of the London Plane tree which was recently damaged very badly and had to be felled’ after a summer storm. It was planted in memory of Jean Lamb, a long serving member of our executive committee. On Thursday 27th February 2025 members of our current committee planted a replacement. This is also a London Plane.
As you can see from the photo it’s location is very close to the east bound carriageway of Southway alongside Southway House on the corner of Headgate and Southway. Both the original and its replacement were/ are London Planes.
