We are now part way through the restoration of the Henry Collins and Joyce Pallot Murals in the Southway underpasses . The plaster and resin surrounds have been removed and replaced with mosaic. The mosaic panels are made off site from bespoke templates and then fitted on site. The next phase is for the concrete rounders to be cleaned and regilded. This all happens in situ.
Here are a few images of the restoration work in progress. They will be back a few weeks time to complete the job.
The work is being paid for with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
