We start our 2015 visits on Friday 16th January to the ‘Late Turner Exhibition’ at The Tate Britain in London.
If you wish to join us on this visit please contact Jo Edwards.
You can email her via the ‘CONTACT US’ tab at the top of the main website page.
This is very much a last minute arrangement that Jo was asked to make and she has to confirm numbers well before the trip, hence her need to know as soon as possible who will be going.
We are also being treated to a lecture about Turner and his later work. The exhibition, entitled ‘Late Turner – Painting Set Free’, features oils, watercolours and sketches produced by JMW Turner during the last 15 years of his life, from 1835, when he was 60, to his death in 1851. Works such as Rain, Steam and Speed, the Wreck Buoy and Peace – Burial at Sea are on display.
Some of the paintings belong to British collections but many are on loan from overseas. This is a chance in a lifetime to see a number of them. Entrance to the Turner exhibition is timed. There will be the opportunity explore the rest of the Gallery too.
The cost is £39 (£34 Art Fund members). This includes admission and coach.
