I promised a visit to Greyfriars and I now have a date! Monday 8th June 2015 at 6pm. I have already been to see what has been happening behind the hoardings. Wow! Greyfriars, a much loved school and, later, an equally loved Adult Education Centre, has been transformed into a luxury hotel. Incredibly, the building is much as it was. Nearly everything is totally recognisable except that layer upon layer of paint has been stripped to reveal beautiful plasterwork and carving, classrooms are now spectacular bedrooms with amazing bathrooms and a lift has been installed. It has to be seen to be believed! We will be able to tour the building and canapés and drinks will be served. (I have also sampled the canapés. Yum!)
